I got me a contract!
Yay!
After looking for what seems like an eternity, but which more likely would be about 2 months, I've finally managed to get myself a contract.
As of Tuesday morning, I'll be starting as a Senior Software Developer, with the following job description:

Damn, thats a lot of acronyms… The scary thing is that I know a fair bit about nearly all of them… And the ones that I don’t know, they’re fairly easy to figure out… I hope .

Its all kind of odd. I haven’t actually met anyone from the company yet, but I’m starting on Tuesday. I’ve spoken to the manager (Mark) a few times, and they got me to do 4 BrainBench tests (ouch), which apparently I aced. When/if I get my hands on the results, I’ll post them up here (mainly so that I can massage the ego a bit more ). I asked if they wanted me to come in for a chat to actually meet each other, but, apparently not - I start on Tuesday, on a 4 day, paid interview . Kind of odd, but who cares. Hopefully I’ll get along with the people I’m supposed to be working with .

Only problem is that I start on Tuesday morning, 9am. I mean, who is alive at that time of day? Whats worse is that I’ll have just come back from Rotterdam, having spent all weekend partying. Hopefully I’ll be able to stay awake, and actually pay attention on the day… Even worse is how long it’ll take me to get from where I’m living (still Crawley - yes Paul, I will move out soon, I promise!) - about an hour and a half or so. Thats a big incentive to get moving on the place to live thing.

Oh, on the place to live thing - now that I’ve got a job, I emailed the last place that I liked (but didn’t get because I didn’t have a job), and told them the good news. Apparently the room is still available, so maybe I’ll have a better chance this time . Otherwise, I’ll have to keep looking. I did manage to find a better place to look for places to live - MoveFlat.com - much better than Gumtree.com.
